Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I sign up for All Out Fitness Camp?
Our fitness camps are the fastest and most fun way to lose weight and get in shape. They are more effective than working out on your own due to the immense support and motivation you will receive and are more affordable than personal training. All you need to do is show up and have fun!
Where is fitness camp held?
The "meeting point" for the camps is at the Greenway Trail. We are currently meeting behind the swim complex off Complex Drive. Directions: State Farm Road to Hunting Hills Road to first left on Complex Drive. Go around the swimming pool to the back of the parking lot. We are meeting under the pavilion near the baseball fields. Remember, we will be navigating to different locations within the park & trail depending on what the exercises for that day. Classes wil be moved indoors at the Armory during winter and in case of bad weather. See map below.
What should I bring to fitness camp?
Bring water, a towel, workout gloves and a waterproof exercise mat.
What should I wear to fitness camp?
Wear comfortable workout clothes. Dress in layers, especially when it’s windy and cold. Make sure to wear good running or cross-training shoes. Hats and gloves are a good idea during winter months.
Do you have changing facilities or restrooms?
Yes, but the access is sometimes limited. Call Valerie at 828-773-6482 for more info. It's best to come to fitness camp ready to exercise.
What if it rains?
You’ll get wet! Be prepared. Bring rain gear if it looks like it is going to rain. Exercising in the rain can yield the most amazing experience and will heighten your sense of accomplishment. If it rains too hard, I will move the class to the back-up indoor location at the armory.
What to do with my keys?
Place them in a zipped pocket or tie them to your shoes. Another option is to purchase an inexpensive shoe key holder available in sports shops or online.
I am really out of shape. Will I be able to keep up with fitness camp?
Absolutely! Every exercise can be modified to be more or less challenging, but always rewarding.
What is a typical workout like at fitness camp?
There is no typical workout! All workouts will vary to optimize the benefits and results. You will do any combination of running/jogging/sprinting, agility drills, body weight exercises, abs/core conditioning, balance exercises and stretching. This is done intentionally so you never get bored and have the most fun!
I signed up for 5 times a week. Will I get sore?
Most likely yes! But it will last only a few days. The focus of each workout is rotated to prevent soreness and injuries. For example, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays workouts could be designed to emphasize cardio and legs training, while Tuesdays and Thursdays workouts may contain more upper body exercises.
Do I need to follow a special diet while I go to fitness camp?
No, who wants to go on a “diet?” We recommend you eat healthy, nutritious, and balanced food 4 to 6 times a day. Special nutrition information guidelines will be given to you the first day of camp for participants registered for a minimum of 4 weeks. Eating healthy is a huge part of your sucesss, so don't oversee nutrition!
What if I miss a workout? Can I make it up?
Yes, you may come to any other session during the 4-week fitness camp, but must notify your instructor. There is no refund for missed workouts.
